. .  SHOP THE POST  . .

I’ve been getting a lot of questions on how we are surviving in a 2- bedroom rental with all 7 of us while we finish our build. And though it’s definitely been chaotic and a little crazy, we are making it work. We feel so blessed to be able to build this new home in an area we love!

Luckily, our littles have been so flexible with everything. They are still at the ages where they are loving having a big sleepover every night. We have Hunter, Hudson, and Hayden sharing a big bed, with Houston in his crib in the same room. The 2nd bedroom has been Joe + I with Harper sleeping in the Nuna Sena. The Nuna Sena alone has been such a lifesaver in this transition. Harper sleeps like a dream in it no matter where we are. And as a bonus it doesn’t take up very much space.

We have had practice sleeping in cozy quarters traveling as a family, but I think the trickiest has probably been sharing one closet between all of us! Ha! To save on space we only brought summer clothes (which we are going to need to switch out pretty quick!), and the basic essentials. The kids all have their favorite toys/things to do, but that is about it!

It hasn’t been the easiest thing to do, and we are ready to get back to what we are more used to, but we know it will be worth the wait in the end! If you have any more questions about anything…the build, our crazy sleeping, you name it – I’m an open book. haha. Hope you all are having a great day!!

  1. Wow! Great job keeping it real! I’m sure since most of the kids are at school during the day that helps make it feel spacious. I find we get home from work, eat dinner and then 2 hours later the kids are in bed at 7 so there’s not much time to be cramped. But the big question is When will the new house be ready?!

    1. Yes having them at school helps not feel too cramped all the time! Fingers are crossed for Thanksgiving, but I have learned to be thrilled if we are in by Christmas!! Ha!

  2. We’re out in Saratoga Springs, UT and we hope you guys aren’t freezing with how cold this week is going to be! Hopefully, you brought some jackets with those summer clothes! Where is the big house going to be? So excited for you when it’s done!

    1. It turned in to fall out of nowhere right?! Luckily we were prepared with a few things, but we definitely need to go switch the rest in storage soon!
