When I reached out to you guys for requests on what you wanted to see most from my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale content, I was shocked to see soooo many of you request Tween! Going in to the sale, this was one of the sections I was the most stressed about. Hunter is at a stage that has been so hard. She isn’t really into any of the little girl options anymore, but not quite a teenager yet either. But to see that so many of you were in the same boat, we were determined and you guys, the options are SO SO good!
Like I said, the Tween options at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year did NOT disappoint. Hunter and I could’ve spent all day trying on all the fun options. They had so many good basics perfect for back to school. I think our favorites were definitely these cute pants + this ruffle sleeve top. I’ve shared a round up of a bunch of good ones below!
One of my very favorite parts of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the Kids section. The timing could not be better for Back to School shopping so I love to stock up on basics for all the little people. I won’t lie, last year was kind of a disappointment in the kids sections, but they more than made up for it this year! I’ve gone through all the sizes from Baby to Tween so you have the best of the best to check out!
Besides maybe women’s shoes, baby is the one section I could buy so much from. It helps that a chunky little babe looks good in just about everything! My favorite baby deal is for sure these headbands. You all know they are my go to just about every day for Harper. But at this price, you can’t pass on stocking up! I’m dying over how cute these shoes are and of course snagged some for Harper. They are the perfect mix of dressy and casual. These little jeans are a perfect basic for Fall and Winter to keep those legs warm, plus who can resist those chunky thighs in skinny jeans?!
When it comes to my boys, they are all about being comfortable. Everything they wear has to be comfortable and easy to move in because I swear they never stop! I love stocking up on good shoes, basic tees, and joggers so we check off both comfy + stylish at the same time. I love this jacket for Hudson and he has already been asking to wear it even in our crazy hot weather!
Hayden is one of my easiest to shop for! She loves tagging along because then she can pick all things girly! We were thrilled to find these cute cute sandals for both girls that will go perfectly with so much! I also LOVE this jumpsuit. It is such a fun basic for school because it can be layered with a cute jacket in the fall!
So that should cover all the must haves for my smaller kids! Also my biggest tip is to look through your kids closets now and assess what they need for school. I don’t know about you, but sometimes the extra little motivation I need to workout is some cute new workout gear to exercise in! It totally makes getting up earlier easier, am I right? So when I shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and saw how many amazing options they have this year, I had to share with you guys!

Ever since having the two babies things have just been so crazy I find myself always having an excuse to put it off. But you guys, I am finally really ready to get going again and get in a routine once school starts. I want to feel stronger + healthier and start putting a little more of my time into me.
I loved these leggings from last year and still wear them. And I was able to snag these basic black high-waisted ones that everyone has been raving about!! Honestly, I haven’t taken them off for the past two days!!

We are just flying through summer over here! Anyone else feel like that always happens? As fast as it has been going by, we have been loving every minute! I’ve really been making a conscious effort to have less distractions + more family time and it has been so amazing. I just can’t get enough of my people! haha! Since we’ve been a little more laid back on here, I haven’t had a chance to share a lot, so I thought it would be a good time for an update!
As I mentioned, we have been soaking in alllll the family time we can get this summer. Joe had this whole past week off and it has been pure heaven having him around. My parents came up and just having them + my sisters family to be with for the week has been so nice.
This past Monday the 2nd we celebrated our cute little Houston turning 3!! I can’t even believe he is already a big 3 year old. He has the funnest personality you could ever imagine and we are all so obsessed. If you missed it, I shared a little update on him + some of the things he is loving most right now. We spent the day doing one of his favorite things, golfing at Top Golf. He felt like such a big boy with his very own clubs and it was the cutest thing ever.
For his party, since he is still pretty little, we wanted to keep it simple + fun. We all absolutely love Protein Foundry, so we decided to get a bunch of their bowls to go. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing they were to work with. They put all the toppings on the side for us so we could assemble when we were ready + had everything bagged and ready to go the second we walked in the door. It made throwing the party together so easy for me + everyone was thrilled because they are SO good! I made his cake this year and kept it simple but love how it turned out!
For the 4th we still had all our family over and just stuck around the house. We threw a fun last minute breakfast with our cute neighborhood + all the little people had a bike parade. It was honestly so simple but so fun. We really are feeling so grateful to have landed in such an amazing neighborhood with such sweet friends already.

Summer is in full swing + with it comes one of my very favorite times of year – the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!! It’s honestly the game changer of sales for the whole year and the time I stock up the most!! Unlike most sales that are trying to dissolve old products to make room for a new season, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is full of BRAND NEW fall styles you don’t want to miss at discounted prices!
Knowing how to navigate the sale can be tricky + even stressful because you have to work fast!! Being prepared in advance as much as possible can be the difference in being able to snag everything on your list! So today I’m sharing three tips on how to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and what I’ve learned over the years to help you get the most bang for your buck!
1: Be ready to shop as early as possible!
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is full of NEW + highly anticipated items. Since that is the case, a lot of items sell out fast! If you are going to take one piece of advice from me let it be this one. BECOMEA NORDSTROM CARD HOLDER!! If you’re a Nordstrom Card Holder, you are granted early access to the sale! Yes you read that right…card holders get to start shopping a full 8 days before everyone else. So while the sale is open to the general public from July 20th – August 5th, you’ll start shopping on the 12th!!
In the past, popular items have sold out during early access, so even if you only use your card during the sale, I promise it will be worth it to score those amazing finds in your size before everyone else has a chance! Plus if you sign up now and make a purchase using your card the day you get approved, you get a $40 credit, perfect to save for the sale!! You can sign up to be a card holder HERE.
2: Plan ahead!! I highly recommend making a “wish list” before the sale starts. Right before the sale is the perfect time to clean out + organize your closet. By doing this, you will know exactly what staple pieces you need to restock. With that you’ll be able to make a must have list. You will most likely find a few extra things you love, but knowing in advance what your must have items are will help you focus on those first before they sell out! 3: Shop online!! While I love a good shopping day, Nordstrom is my absolute favorite place to shop online. Not only is the website extremely user friendly, they also offer Free Shipping + Free Returns. You really can’t lose. The crowds during the sale can be insanity in store. This makes things hard to find, especially with limited store quantities. Online you can plan your picks, and quickly order first thing in the morning from the comfort of your bed! And although you miss the option to try things on, free returns allows you to order in a couple sizes and take back what doesn’t work.

I don’t know about you guys but I am DYING that July is already here!! Doesn’t it feel like you blinked and the first month of summer was gone?! I have really been trying to soak up every second with my little people, because they are growing up so dang fast! Speaking of growing up, today we are celebrating our sweet Houston turning three!! Houston is the sweetest, most hilarious boy. We cannot get enough of his cute personality! In honor of his special day, I wanted to share THREE fun facts about him you may not know, as well as an update!
As I’m sure you can see, Houston is our tiny little guy! He has always been our smallest babe. A lot of his size can be connected with how picky he is! He is by far our pickiest eater. While Harper will eat anything you put in front of her, this guy takes some major treat bribery to try anything new. But he is slowly getting better!
He is still wearing mostly size 2 clothes + size 4 diapers…yes the same as Harper!! He has started potty training himself, haha, and will go potty on his own all the time. I haven’t convinced myself to fully commit to training him with the puppy and a crazy summer, but it will be coming soon!
He is doing so much better with his speech! I’ve shared on here a few times that he has always been a little delayed for his age when it comes to speech. We have been working with a speech therapist twice a month, as well as a cute girl from the school twice a week that comes and plays speech games with him. It has been such a game changer and we have seen such a difference! We aren’t going to start him in preschool yet this coming year, but he will get to go to a little speech class once a week, so he still thinks he is one of the big kids.
He is such a sweet big brother (most of the time) to “his baby”, and wants to help with everything. They have the funnest little relationship! She has just started putting up a fight when he teases he and we have learned he is a screamer when he doesn’t get his way!
THREE THINGS WE ARE LOVING ABOUT OUR FAVORITE THREE YEAR OLD :
He is OBSESSED with the puppy! They are so so cute together. Houston always knows where she is at all times. He loves playing with her toys with her, and trying to be big and help get her food + water. He thinks it is always HIS turn to hold her and loves to show her off. One of the main reasons we got the puppy was to help Houston with his speech. So we are so happy they have such a connection and it has helped him to learn different commands to tell her + connect simple words together.
His LOVE for baseball is out of this world. He would stay in the batting cage alllll day if we let him. He is constantly asking to “go hit balls” and thinks he is so big just like Hudson. While he may be a little slower with his speech, his hand/eye coordination and athletic ability is crazy. He no longer needs a tee, and can nail the ball with someone pitching to him, and loves to run the bases to celebrate. It is one of my favorite things to watch!
His best friend in the whole world is HUNTER! He is so in love with big sister. Whenever her friends come over he follows them around and says they are his friends. He bawls every time she leaves, probably more so than when Joe or I leave. He even sleeps in a sleeping bag in the girls room so he can sleep with her. She is so sweet with him and I love seeing her little motherly instincts with him. I think he picked a pretty great choice for his best friend.
He really is the funnest, sweetest, little guy and we are so lucky to have him as part of our crew! We can’t wait to celebrate him all week long!
This past week I’ve been trying to organize some of Harper’s things and clear out some of the things she has grown out of. Cue all the tears. As I was organizing, I realized it has been a while since I shared some of my favorite baby essentials with you! Whether you are expecting, have a little one of your own, or are heading to a baby shower, I’ve got you covered! I put together a list of my top 15 that can ALL be found at Target, my favorite one stop shop!
– diapers + wipes: Ok I had to start with the number one must have for every baby out there, diapers + wipes! It is no secret you will go through A LOT of these in your baby/toddler years. I’ve always been a fan of Pampers, but fell in love with their new Pampers Pure Collection . The ingredients are all very thoughtfully selected, making them gentle on your babe’s skin.
With sensitive skin, something as simple as fragrance can irritate their skin so these have been a total game changer for us. I especially love that although they are gentle, they really are strong when it comes to doing their job. They hold up well, especially overnight, and we haven’t had any leaks! And major bonus, the patterns are SO cute!
– melts + puffs : It is no secret that we are a family that is often on the go! Between practices, games, and the everyday errands, we spend a fair share of our time out and about. That calls for easily portable snacks for the babies! These puffs + melts are our favorites, and I swear the babies would eat a whole pack in one setting if I let them! I especially love that they are pretty mess free, making them great for the car!
– place mats : This one is more for the toddler years, but still a definite favorite around here. Messes are pretty much guaranteed with an independent “do it myself mom” little one. I love that these are a quick peel and stick so they stay in place and cant get thrown around by your babe. I always keep a few in my diaper bag so tables at the park or out to eat are a little cleaner to put their food on + easier to clean up!
-bibs : Speaking of messy, another baby essential over here are good BIBS. Whether they are for milk dribbles from a bottle or an independent toddler feeding themselves, they are a must have. We love these for all the drool that comes with teething too. They have the cutest styles and help save their clothes!
– teething toys : Dealing with teething is inevitable, but having one of these teethers on your side definitely helps. We LOVE this one, and my babies usually end up carrying it around with them everywhere. This little banana one comes with a brush on the tip to kind of help rub their gums. We love sticking it in the freezer for extra comfort.
– books : As parents I feel like we always think of little toys to have around for our babies, but sometimes books are forgotten, and they are such an easy way to help entertain your little one. Harper especially loves these little indestructible board books in the car. They have simple images + text, and are great to introduce animal sounds or first words.
– outfits : if you are anything like me, target is basically your idea of heaven! haha. I am loving the new basics options they have for adults, and it is even better for babies. They have so many adorable little rompers + dresses for harper, I seriously can’t get enough. They are all so affordable too, which I love since they seem to grow out of things so quickly. We just picked up this romper and this dress and can’t wait to have her wear them this summer.
– pajamas : Everyone loves a comfy cozy pair of pajamas, and babies are no exception. These are at the top of my essentials list, especially for little ones because some days you never really make it out of your pajamas, so you want them to be comfy!! I love how buttery soft these are while being such great quality.
– bath toys : Bath time is such a fun one with little ones. I swear mine could stay in their for hours!! We love having few little toys to help spark their imagination and creative play. These letters have been fun to work with Houston on learning them and their sounds! Both babies love drawing everywhere with these crayons too!
– heart rate monitor : As a new mom, especially for the first time, you are pretty much terrified bringing that baby home. I know with my first babies I pretty much hovered over their cribs at night to make sure they were sleeping! #paranoidmom So when I saw this monitor around the time Houston was born, I was sold. It gives you so much peace of mind and helps calm your nervous heart and get some sleep yourself!
– lotion : I mentioned before that the babies, especially houston have sensitive skin. I searched high and low for a lotion that would help, and this one has been one of the best we’ve found. It is super affordable, but still does a great job of giving him that moisture and soothing from the oatmeal he needs.
– bottles + sippies : Almost as much so as diapers + wipes, bottles + sippies are going to be a must have with a baby around. We’ve tried just about every brand there is and fell in love with these bottles + these sippies. I love that the bottles don’t let any air get in, avoiding upset tummies. The sippies DO NOT leak, which is a must for the car or even having baby carry them around the house. I love the fun colors so we can keep track of which color is which babies.
– binkies : We always get asked where the babies binkies are from and Target is the place!! Every baby is different and prefers a different style, but these are our favorites. I love the simple colors and style. And of course the great price helps you not feel so bad if you lose one!
– swaddle : I don’t know about you, but I always worry about my babies being too cold or too hot. I want them to be cozy and snuggled up, but not sweaty! These lightweight muslin swaddles are my favorite.
They are just heavy enough to comfort your little one, but not so much to weigh them down. And bonus, they come in the cutest patterns, some even exclusive to Target! They are my favorite thing to give as a baby shower present!
– carrier : Last but definitely not least, is a good carrier. As a mom of 5, I still needed my hands available to help my older people and couldn’t always be holding my baby, as much as I wanted to be! These carries are so comfy for both you and the baby, but heavy duty to make them great for hiking or walks too.

If you’ve been around here for very long, you are probably well aware that I live for a good basic outfit, or as I like to call it, momiform. With 5 little people, I need an outfit that checks three boxes. Something comfortable, easy to move in, and looks put together! Gimme a good v-neck tee and high waisted jean and I am set! haha! So for today’s Favorite Finds, I thought it would be fun to share all my favorite basics with you!
When it comes to my closet + wardrobe, I really try to keep it minimal. I try to mostly buy basics that can be super versatile. If I could live in a good basic tee, I totally would. They are comfortable, breathable, and can be easily be dressed up or down.
I’ve shared them a million times, but these are by far my favorite! The length is perfect so nothing is hanging out, and the v-neck cut gives it a little more style than your plain crew neck. I love that its not too tight so it is totally flattering. I can throw it on with jeans and some slides to run the little people to practice, but easily just throw on my favorite jacket and some heels and be ready for date night! If you’re anything like me, when you find something you love, you buy it in every color possible, so you’ll see this same tee on my in different varieties pretty much every day!
I’m also a big fan of vintage graphic tees. I think they are such a fun look and again so comfortable! I’m loving that so many places like Nordstrom + Revolve are starting to sell more of these. They have the cutest options in flattering yet comfy fits. And a little secret, sometimes you can even shop the Men’s section for the cutest options like this Mickey Tee I’m obsessed with!
JEANS :
I don’t know about you, but high waisted jeans coming back in style was pretty much the best thing that ever happened to me. haha! They are pretty much all I ever buy! I love finding a good pair that has some distressing to add a little pop to an outfit of basics. These are by far my favorite. They have the perfect amount of stretch to keep them comfy, but not give you a saggy booty after 1 day of wear. I always like to have a good white pair and black pair to switch things up a little bit too!
DRESSES :
Summer is officially here in Utah and that means HOT weather! I’ve never really been a big fan of shorts, so if I’m not wearing jeans and a tee, you’ll find me in a fun summer dress. Whether its a dressed up flowy look or a more casual fitted option, I love dresses! Of course my number one favorite about these is they are so breathable. If I’m hot and sweaty, I want the least amount of clothes touching me as possible! haha! I love that I can throw on a jacket for the cool summer nights or switch up the shoes and it totally changes the look.
Like pretty much every girl, I am a total shoe lover! Who doesn’t love a good pair of strappy heels for date nigh?! But lets be honest, I’m trying to keep up with 5 little people, and they are just not practical for every day. I pretty much live in some easy mules, sandals, or tennies! These mules have been on repeat lately! They are so easy to throw on and go, and the white goes with everything!!
Now that summer is here, so is the hot weather. These are my go to sandals and I have them in 3 colors I love them so much. I love that they are kind of a dressed up flip flop. Just as comfy and care free, but nice enough to pair with dresses or a evening look for date night!
JACKETS :
While I don’t reach for them quite as often now that its hot out, I love having a good staple jacket or two in my line up. You know the ones you can reach for to go with just about any look? Must have in my opinion. My favorite is this black leather one. I think I wore it just about every day in the fall, and still love to grab it for cooler summer nights. The gold accessories add the perfect pop to dress up a basic look for date night. This denim option is another favorite. Its such a simple casual look and my favorite to pair with dresses!
As you can see, when it comes to my daily look, I’m all about easy + comfortable. Even though you may be mom to lots of little people, don’t forget about taking care of you. You can still feel put together and looking your best, with a quick easy basics look! So I wanna know, what are you favorite fashion basics?!
We are rounding up the end of the home tour today with a second look at the basement! If you saw last week, I shared the first half of the basement. We wanted the space to be big + open to host family and friends for fun movie or game nights! As you’ll see in the first section, we are set to snuggle up for the perfect movie night, and today I’ll take you inside the little peoples new favorite spot!
The basement has quickly become our favorite hang out spot. The little people basically live down here and never want to come upstairs! The goal was to keep it open but still really functional. We wanted a fun game table as the main focus of the space. Pool seemed too advanced and tricky for the little people, so we went with air hockey and are so happy we did! They are all obsessed already and it has been so fun!! When we were looking, I didn’t really see anything that matched the modern aesthetic throughout the rest of the house. I wanted the table to be able to be used as a regular table to eat on when we weren’t playing. So I showed our cabinet guy my dream and he made it a reality!!
With the basement being our entertainment spot, we also wanted to have easy access to a food prep area too. The addition of a little bar with a mini fridge from Boulevard has been perfect. We can prep movie treats + drinks, as well as have a quick easy clean up spot. As you’ll see we added some open shelving too. This is the only spot in the house with open shelving because it stresses me out to decorate them!! haha! I’m loving how they personalize the space.
I really tried to use accessories in this space to make it feel homey and inviting both to our family and guests we are entertaining. You all know my love of plants, and the life they bring to a room. I really wanted to bring that into the basement to keep it feeling fresh. I love these big planters and the statement they make. To add more of a personal touch, we are planning on hanging big framed pictures of the little people on the blank wall above the planter. Just dealing with the hard decisions of which ones to print!!
It really has turned out to be such a fun space, and now one of our favorites to gather as a family! We can’t wait to host more friends + extended family through the coming years! So I wanna know, whats your favorite room in the house to be with your people?
So summer is in full swing over here and I’m feeling it with five little people to keep entertained! It has been crazy but honestly so so fun getting all the extra time with my people! Every year as soon as summer hits, I start to get so excited for all of the fun to start, especially the birthdays and holidays we have! The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays of the year, so it’s so fun! I love that it is completely focused around being with family, in addition to all of the yummy food, fun, + fireworks!! We are extra excited this year because we will be hosting my whole family! So I cannot even wait!
In addition to all of the celebrations to look forward to, if you know me, you know I love a good chance to dress the whole family up in fun matching outfits! While I love matching and making it holiday related, I always look for pieces that we can continue to wear and aren’t too themed or holiday specific.
