Today on the blog I’m sharing Fourth of July outfits for you + your kids! I try to stick to classic basics that the kids + I can wear all summer long, so I hope you all find something you love!
I always get asked what I bring to the pool so I figured I should share my favorite items. I’m just sharing what I bring for myself, not the kids. I’m sharing my favorite sunscreens, nipple covers, pool towel, and more!
When it comes to face sunscreen, I am picky! I finally found a sunscreen I love from Tula! Tula has 2 great options… a daily SPF 30 sunscreen (perfect for putting on every morning) and a SPF 50 sunscreen that I love wearing while out at the pool or being outside for long perios of time! After applying sunscreen, I use the Supergoop SPF setting powder (SPF 35 mineral) lightly on top. It’s the perfect combination! Don’t forget to use code KAILEE for 15% off Tula products!
WRAP SKIRT
This wrap skirt from Amazon is a good staple to keep in your pool bag! It’s always nice to have something easy you can throw on over your swimsuit. This skirt comes in a ton of colors and is under $7!
: NIPPLE COVERS
If you haven’t tried these nipple covers from Amazon, you’re missing out! If you want a little extra cushion around your nipple area, then these covers are for you. They are so smooth, so you can’t tell you’re wearing them under your swimsuit. They stick to your skin very well and hide your nipples through your swimsuit!
: JEWELRY
I always love adding jewelry to my pool outfit! This Amazon ring has been a top seller for so long which doesn’t surprise me. It’s one of my favorite rings because it’s only $50 and looks like a REAL wedding ring! It’s perfect for the pool, traveling, or anywhere you don’t want to risk losing your actual ring.
Another thing I love wearing are my Budha bracelets! They are lightweight, waterproof, and don’t make any noise. They are the perfect way to add a little bling!
: STANLEY TUMBLER
My 30oz Stanley is perfect for the pool because it keeps my water cold for so long, has a straw, AND has a handle! It definitely helps keeps me hydrated throughout the day.
: TKEE FLIP FLOPS
You guys know how much Hunter + I love our Tkee flip flops! They are such good quality… perfect for the pool or with your everyday outfit. They fit true to size as well! (We love the color “pout” the best).
: SUNGLASSES
I’ve had these Goodr glasses for a while and I always get questions about them! They’ve definitely been my go-to this summer. They are such good quality and look good on anyone’s face shape!
: GEOMETRY TOWEL
Our closet is stacked full of Geometry beach towels! They are so thin, making them easy to pack and fold into your bag. They are also really absorbent which is nice for the pool. They wash really well! Don’t forget to use code KAILEE15 for 15% off!
: STRAW VISOR
My sisters + I are obsessed with this straw visor. It is the perfect hat for the pool and gives a great amount of coverage! Not to mention that it’s super cute and comes in so many fun colors too. I also bring these claw clips to keep my hair up and out of my face! Two pack for only $6.99!
: LIP MASK
I know I’m not the only one who gets dry lips at the pool. This lip mask is AMAZING! Keeps my lips hydrated all day, even when I’m outside by the pool. I also love Sun Bum chapstick if you’re wanting some with SPF.
: BELT BAG
In my opinion, everyone needs a Lulu belt bag! Since they are hands-free, they’re perfect for the pool to hold your phone, keys, cash, chapstick, etc. They have so many fun colors in stock right now which is rare, so act fast! If you’re wanting something cheaper, this Amazon dupe is also a great option!
Summer is here!!! We are beyond thrilled. I absolutely love slower mornings with the kids and not having to feel rushed to get everyone out the door. I’m feeling so much better since our last update… I got my stent out so I’m feeling much better and am just so grateful for my health. I figured it was time to share another life update and share what’s going on over here at the Wright house!
OUR LIFE UPDATE
: HOUSE UPDATE
Our house plans are being submitted to the city TODAY! We’ve been working with Elizabeth Hales for all our designing which is almost finished… we just need to finalize the living room, entry way, fireplace, and dining room! We’ve worked with her for forever it seems like. She’s helped us design 3 houses and is so amazing! The kids and I have started working on designing their rooms. We’ll be doing that on our own just to save some money. I’m excited to start sharing more updates as we go. It seems like everything is taking so long but I’ll be sure to start sharing more house content!
Hunter got her first job! She’s loving it. WE are loving because she’s no longer asking for money, haha. She has a few friends that work at the same place so that makes it fun for her. She also started physical therapy for her knee last week. At her first appointment, they hooked her up to electricity and she came back so exhausted. But we’re just hoping she can repair her torn ligament and get her knee stronger for high school in a few months.
Hunter and I went up to that Mixhers event at Sundance and had so much fun! We stayed the weekend with my sister and Hunter even got to go to lunch with some friends so that was fun for her.
Hudson is still playing with his baseball team up north, so him and Joe went up there over memorial weekend for a tournament! It was Hudson’s first time up there since we’d moved, so he was excited to see all his friends.
Hayden made 2 cheer teams so she’s doing cheer 4-5 days a week! It’s Honestly a lot…we’re still debating if we’re going to do 2 teams, but she’s going to try it this summer and see how it goes. She’s so excited about it!
The younger 2 aren’t doing anything right now, which is honestly nice. They’re staying busy with diamond art, crafts, and swimming at grandmas!
Update on Houston’s recovery… he got his tonsils out and he’s been doing pretty good. I hear the older they are, the tougher the recovery is. We’ve stayed up on his meds every 3 hours so that helps him with the pain. The first few nights we would wake him in the middle of the night to give him his Tylenol and switch that off with ibuprofen. He had a few rough days when the scabs started to fall off. The best thing they gave us was these numbing suckers and anytime it would hurt, he would suck on it for 15 seconds and once it numbed his throat, we’d give him his medicine. He seriously just lived off shakes and protein drinks! If he was running around or talking a lot, he would totally feel it the next day so we mostly tried to lay low and relax. We played lots of games at home, crossword puzzles, books, coloring, diamond art, etc. He didn’t want to watch TV too much. It honestly was pretty easy since we stayed up on medication. By day 10 he was totally fine!

: SUMMER PLANS
We don’t have a ton planned this summer since we’re building a house and want to save money, but the kids will have soccer camps and Hudson has a few tournaments out of town so it will still be busy. We’re going to go visit Madison Vining this summer but not sure on the dates yet. She lives on the most amazing farm so everyone’s excited about that!
Another month has come and gone! May is such a crazy month so I hope everyone is surviving. But summer is finally here and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve ordered a ton of fun dresses for summer and some activities for the kids to do at home so check those out below!
With it being summer break, I wanted to order some fun activities for the kids to do at home! I ordered this rock painting kit for only $12!! It doesn’t come with rocks but it comes with glow in the dark paint which the kids think is so cool! We also ordered a big thing of bracelet string for the kids to work on bracelets and anklets. Only $5.99 too!
Houston has been OBSESSED with diamond art so I ordered him this 16″ by 20″ baseball diamond art! It’s huge so it will keep him busy for a while. He’s really excited about it! Our favorite diamond art that I’ve shared so many times about is from Addison Lane Design! Code KAILEE15 for 15% off!
: SHOES
I’ve wanted a pair of these black heels for so long! I love the square toe with the t-string that I even ordered them in gold!
: DRESSES
The floral dress is beautiful but I want to cut it shorter so I will share once I do that! I got a small and it fits great. The pink dress hasn’t delivered yet but I seriously can’t wait to try it on because the colors are so fun for summer!
I thought the 2 plaid dresses would look so pretty for summer with my new heels for summer.
: CLEAR MASCARA
Hayden wants to start wearing mascara so I thought that this clear mascara would be the perfect thing to start with! She’s loved using it and learning how to put it on.
. . .
What did you order from Amazon this month? Comment below!
hey everyone, it’s hunter with another teen takeover! i’m so excited that summer is finally here!! i got a job at swig so that will keep me busy this summer. my mom has gotten lots of requests from you guys for teen swimsuits so today i’m sharing a round-up of swimsuits i’m loving!
What do chores look like at your house? Is there a lot of complaining? Do you pay allowance? Or are you still trying to figure out a system? With summer break upon us, this is a perfect time to figure out a routine that works for you and your people!
For us, having 5 little people and keeping things clean + organized can be a challenge. For Joe + I, we wanted chores to be more than just pitching in to keep the house clean. We wanted it to be a way to teach our little people more about responsibility at the same time. We tried and tried to find something that would work and just fell short Until my good friend Ralphie over at Simply on Purposetalked about her “family economy”. You guys, my mind was blown! It was almost exactly what we were looking for for our family! We’ve made a few tweaks and customizations to fit our needs, but we have loved how it works. So I thought I’d share in case it benefits anyone else
Our Family Economy is basically a deeper focus on your everyday chore chart. It takes your typical “do your chores to get an allowance”, and teaches the deeper meaning. It teaches your kids how to save, how much things cost, and how to budget while showing them that the effort they put in equals the reward.
:: WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS WAY OF DOING CHORES/ALLOWANCE?
For me, the number one purpose was to help + encourage me to be more of a “yes” mom. Constantly nagging my little people to do a set list of chores was getting old. I didn’t want to be the source of all the “no’s” and “cant’s”. We wanted them to grow up knowing that getting the things you want takes hard work + effort and it isn’t just a free handout. The family economy has been a great way to explain these simple things + encourage them to set and achieve goals.
:: HOW DOES IT WORK?
The first thing we did was customize our chore charts. This can be tricky for some people to come up with a good layout so I included a downloadable version below! Our little people each have chores they do every day to earn money. For us these daily things include things like making your bed, doing your homework/reading, hanging up your backpack + washing your hands after school, reading scriptures + saying prayers. As you can see, for the most part these are more things they would do already. For the bigger Saturday chores, we have taught them that pitching in is part of living in the house, and not something they are paid for.
As they do their chores, they have to get their charts signed off. If the job isn’t signed off, they don’t get paid. Based on their age, they have a weekly allowance amount. If they complete all of their chores, they get the full amount. If there is a day they don’t feel like doing their chores, that is fine. For that day, they will not be paid. We have had a few days like that, but they quickly realize they’d rather do it and earn more money. We also have weeks where we will offer bigger chores or babysitting for additional money.
:: HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
This is where things change from what most people know as chores + allowance. Instead of paying our little people in cash, they each have a checkbook ledger. At the end of the week, we look over their charts and figure out how much they have earned. We write that amount on their check ledger. When we are out at the store and they see a toy they want to buy, or a treat they’ve gotta have, we pull out their ledger. If they choose to get it, we just subtract that amount from their total. I love not having cash floating around the house, or the excuse of “losing it” their allowance money.
Now don’t get me wrong, we haven’t fully turned into buy-everything-yourself mode. We still have family date nights for treats and things. But if we are just running errands and they feel like a bonus treat, they know its up to them if they want to spend their money on it. It has been amazing to see them be able to process if things are really worth their money .
Saving is also a big part of the family economy concept that we haven’t completely visited yet. My little people are still young and in the spending mode, but we are going to start pushing saving soon. The way Simply on Purpose recommends for saving money is to agree to double whatever is in their savings when they turn 16. Having a benefit, similar to an interest rate at a bank, makes saving money more appealing.
Most important in all of this is to do what works for you and your family. Comparison isn’t going to get you anywhere and one way of doing things doesn’t work for everyone. This is totally customizable and will take some trial and error, so work it out for you! If you try it let me now what you think! Our chore charts are available for download below!!
Just hold down on the image + save to your phone OR right click (if your on a computer)to print off and save to your desktop! TIP: you can add your child’s name to the top any chart
We had the BEST time in Cancun with my family last week! Besides my stent pain from kidney stone surgery, the trip was amazing! The kids were in heaven all week. I’ve gotten so many questions about where we stayed, what we did, if we felt safe, etc, so I wanted to write up a blog post with all my thoughts and recommendations for Cancun! (Also, if you missed my kidney stone update, I’ll link that blog post here.)
We stayed at the Grand Moon Palace in Cancun! It’s an all-inclusive resort which made everything easy. If you’re staying at any of the other Palace resorts, make sure you book the Grand Moon Palace! It’s the cleanest, nicest, + newest. We absolutely loved it. There is SO much for the kids to do, which I’ll share below under “what we did.”
I got so many questions asking if we felt safe. We felt completely safe the whole time we were in Mexico. Right from the airport, we took the hotel shuttle straight to the resort. It wasn’t an extra fee and it was so seamless. We also took the shuttle back to the airport when we were leaving. There was no point during our trip where we felt unsafe!
Our room situation was great! We had 2 adjoining rooms- Joe and I were in one room + we always left the door open to the kids room. Their room had 2 queen beds and a pull-out twin mattress! The rooms were nice + clean. The kids loved the huge jacuzzi bath tubs too!
The transportation throughout the whole resort was so easy. We would just walk outside our room and golf carts would take us wherever we needed to go
We ate by the pool everyday for lunch! The kids loved ordering room service for breakfast. They had some cute ice cream parlors/cafes with waffles and crepes that everyone loved. Since it was all inclusive, I feel like the food wasn’t the best. And since we had all the kids with us, the adults didn’t really get to try the Lebanese or Indian restaurants because we knew the kids wouldn’t like it.
The kids said it was their absolute favorite trip and I think the main reason why is because there was no limit on treats or drinks! I’m not kidding, Hudson had 8-10 strawberry daaqruirs a day. Even Houston was going up to the bar and ordering his own drink! We probably got ice cream 5 times a day too, haha! The kids were in heaven!
I had a lot of people ask if any of us got sick. Out of 15 people, nobody got sick!! All our drinking water was from water bottles.
My only complaint was that their times were weird. The restaurants weren’t all open 7 days a week. One was MWF and only a few were open on Saturday. All other all-inclusive resorts I’ve been to aren’t like that, so that was the only annoying thing.
We literally never left the resort because there was so much to do!! The resort had a little water park, a big water park, slides, tube slides, a splash pad, mat slides, a wave machine (2 people can be on it at the same time). There was also a huge indoor play area with AC! It had stuff for all ages of kids….painting, video games, mini golf, etc. TONS to do! There were also bikes that the kids rode around. My boys loved the outside mini golf course + arcade. All of this was included in the resort fee!
The only thing that wasn’t included in the price was bowling. We actually sat through a 2 hour meeting at the hotel when we got there and they gave us a $300 credit to use so we used that to go bowling and get massages!
When you stay at Grand Moon Palace hotel, you can go to the other ones so we took a 20 min bus ride to another palace hotel because they had a better beach. But the water was so bad and not safe for swimming, so we literally paid for a taxi ride to go back. That was the only time we left our resort, but it’s good to know that you can enjoy any palace resort.
I first want to start with a huge THANK YOU for everyone who has checked in + sent up prayers! It means so much to me and I am grateful for each and every one of you. I wanted to share my experience from the past week and give a little update. Plus I wanted to write something down that people could refer back to if they are every struggling with kidney stones or debating on surgery.
MY KIDNEY STONE EXPERIENCE
: MY HISTORY WITH KIDNEY STONES
The first time I had kidney stones was 7 years ago when I was pregnant with Harper. I woke up early that morning with back/side pain. I had no idea what was going on. I knew I wasn’t going into labor, but my body immediately started vomiting due to the severe pain. I was worried about the baby so we went to the emergency room. At the hospital and they put me on morphine to control the pain (honestly, my pain tolerance is pretty good) and told me it was a kidney stone and I’d pass it in a few days. But I didn’t pass it until 14 DAYS LATER!! I don’t remember why we never got the stone tested, but I regret it now. Not knowing the cause of them. So there’s a little backstory.
: MY RECENT EXPERIENCE
Flash forward to now… I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago, so I haven’t had cramps since then. But the past 6 weeks I’ve been cramping. I still have my ovaries, but not my uterus which is what usually causes cramps. I’ve also been having bad back pains too and just thought I pulled something. I felt like garbage and honestly just accepted the pain, thinking it was normal. Well, last Sunday I started getting really bad cramps at church so I decided to walk home (we live right across the street) and my back pain immediately set in and I couldn’t walk. I literally crawled to my phone and called Joe. He took me to the emergency room, they did an CT scan and found 3 kidney stones…. a 6mm, 4mm, and a 1mm. Because we were leaving the country in five days and the stone I was trying to pass was 6mm, the urologist was highly recommending surgery. They typically do surgery for any kidney stone over 5mm because it’s too big for your body to pass.
They gave me medication to help my body pass the stone on my own (which was only an 40% chance) but I wanted to try this route so they sent me home. I waited a few days and hadn’t passed it yet. We were preparing to leave for Mexico Friday night, so I was hoping to pass it on my own without surgery. I really didn’t want to do surgery; I even called the doctor a hour before and told him I wasn’t doing it. Right after Joe called some doctor buddies up North and they just told us to do it. They said it wasn’t worth the risk to possibly pass the stone in Mexico, be in pain, or even be life flighted home. They all recommended that I do it so I did.
After the surgery Wednesday, I felt worse than I ever had!!! It was the most pain I’d been in. Because they were able to go up into my kidney and retrieve all three stones + leave a stent. If you don’t know what a stent is, it’s a tube like object that connects to your kidney and comes out your urethra. They say that 3 out of 5 people are fine pain-wise with the stent, but 2 out of 5 aren’t. So I was paranoid about how it would affect me. When I got home, my body went crazy. I was shaking uncontrollably from the anesthesia (which is a common side effect) and none of my pain meds were kicking in. I could tell Joe was getting a little worried so that’s when I knew something was wrong. About an hour later, everything kicked in and I felt better.
: OUR DECISION TO GO TO MEXICO
Joe and I were still debating whether or not we should go to Mexico. My parents had offered to take the kids and Joe meet up later but that wasn’t sitting well with us. This was a trip we had planned with my whole family over a year ago and family time is the absolute most important thing to us.
I asked Joe to give me a healing blessing Friday morning. Him and his dad gave me a beautiful blessing and ever since then, my pain has been bearable. Which I have been so grateful for. We literally waited till the last minute to make a decision and ultimately decided to come to Mexico since we had enough meds to get me through the week if things continued as they did. The meds definitely have help, but they do have big side effects on my body. Hence why I avoid taking them at all costs. I’m 6 days out of surgery and I FINALLY feel like I’m not dying. Joe was actually going to pull my stent out this morning – because I just can’t handle it anymore, but he couldn’t find the string! So when we get back, I have to have surgery to get it taken out.
Honestly, I would recommend waiting as LONG as you can before doing surgery and try to have you body pass the stone naturally. I have been in constant pain and my body hasn’t reacting well to the stent. I feel okay when I’m staying up on meds, but again the side effects (for me personally) are awful. I’ve had one girlfriend say that her kidney stone surgery went totally fine and another girlfriend who said her stent pain was unbearable!! Everyone’s experience totally different, and this is just mine.
. . .
I wish I would’ve been able to read + learn about other people’s experiences before getting the surgery, so I hope this blog post helps somebody!
hey guys it’s hunter with another teen takeover! i’m loving the warmer weather lately and have been doing some online shopping for summer so i thought it would be fun to share all the items i’ve ordered recently and share why i like them!
i’ll start with tops! of course i ordered an oversized graphic tee from urban! they are so easy for the lake and summer to just throw on over your swimsuit. i also ordered 2 crop tanks that are so fun + easy for summer (striped tank + red tank), they’re not booby or anything so I’m excited about those. one last urban shirt i ordered is this black tube top. it’s fun as a cover up or to wear with high waisted shorts!
: SWIMSUITS
i picked out these swimsuits because my friends love going to the lake to just tan all day. it’s a big thing in st. george right now to just bring snacks and drinks to lake and tan. all of us girls wear our tanning swimsuits so that’s why i’m obsessed with the strapless tops and tie bottoms right now! i ordered a blue top, blue bottoms, a floral top, and yellow bottoms! all from target and under $25.
i LOVE these shorts from pac sun because they’re a little longer. the longer length is trendy right now so i’m excited about them. and they don’t show your butt! cargo shorts are a huge thing right now too, so I ordered a dark pair and a light pair. they aren’t super high waisted but they are just easy to slip on and wear with anything. they’ll be super cute for summer.
: SHOES
i bought these doc marten sandals because i think they’re so cute! you can wear them with literally anything, they’re the perfect summer sandal.
. . .
that’s all i have for today! what should my next topic be?
Can you believe it’s May already? This is such a fun, yet busy, time of year and I’m just enjoying every second of it! Last month’s Amazon orders were random (as always). I ordered some new cleats for Hudson, a dress for our Mexico trip, my favorite hair cream, and more! Keep scrolling for details on all these items!
Ordered these Under Armour cleats for Hudson for football! He really likes them, they’ve been holding up well. He didn’t want anything that was too bright or would stand out, so he found these and he loves the all white.
: SUNGLASSES
Houston wanted some sunglasses for his baseball games so he picked these ones out! Under $15 and really fun if you have a little one playing baseball!
: ALARM CLOCK
I bought this clock for clock for Hunter to help her wake up in the morning! I loved the modern look of it. Only $11.99 too!
I got this dress for our Mexico trip and I’m obsessed! I love that it doesn’t have a slit or anything. It’s the perfect length and runs true to size (wearing a small)! Only $33.99 and comes in a ton of other fun patterns!
: HAIR CREAM
I had to order another bottle of this hair cream because I ran out! BOTH Hudson + I use it and love it. It doesn’t leave your hair crispy or gel-like, it really just enhances your natural curls. You don’t even have to blow-dry or diffuse your hair – just put it in your hair and go!
Ordered this blue dress for Harper! It’s darling and fits true to size! Comes in other colors and is under $20!
: GRANDMA GIFT BOOK
This “What I Love About Grandma” book is SO cute! We ordered it for the kids to fill out. It’s such a simple + easy mother’s day gift idea that is so fun to personalize and have as a keepsake. Your kids get to go through it + fill it out! Only $10 too!
: WORKOUT TANK
I bought this workout tank to try because I saw my friend share about it! The back is so fun and I really like how it fits. Fits true to size and is under $25!
: LIP MASK
Hunter + I love this lip mask! We put it on before bed and wake up with hydrated lips!!
: SWEATER SET
I finally ordered the Freya set DUPE!! The Free People one is $128, but the Amazon dupe is only $44.99! The dupe top is very similar to the Free People set in fabric + weight. The color is more of a true black as opposed to the Free People one. The Free People pants are more of a cotton fabric and the amazon ones are more of a dress pant. The pants are a lot shorter and tighter too. I personally like the Free People set better. The dupe is good, but it’s a completely different pant material.
: GIMME HAIR TIES
These Gimme hair ties are AMAZING! They hold Hayden’s horsehair really well. She usually has to use 4 normal hair ties, but she only has to use one Gimme hair tie so we love how durable these Gimme ones are.
: LABELS
I have these labels ALL over my house! They are just like the Crate and Barrel ones but half the price. I ordered the silver metal clips, they come with 8 black and 8 white inserts and a black and white pen! Totally helps me with my organization. Under $!5 too!
: NEVER NEVER BOOK
Hunter ordered this book! Sounds like she’s enjoying it so far.
. . .
What was your favorite Amazon purchase from last month? Comment below!
We’re heading to Mexico next week with my family so I’ve been ordering a ton of swimsuits to try! And let’s be honest, nobody really loves swimsuit shopping right?! If that’s you, you’ve come to the right place because I’ve found some gooood ones! Amazon has SO many cute and affordable options so I wanted to share them with you all!
I ordered this swimsuit in cocoa brown and hot pink! They are seriously so good. I ordered them in size small but ended up getting them in medium instead. So be sure to size up! The small was a bit cheeky and too tight, but the medium fits perfect. It comes in a TON of fun colors options. Only $30.95 too!! Such a good deal!
This swimsuit is so flattering! I love the high waisted bottoms and the fun cut on the top. This swimsuit runs true to size, I’m wearing a small and it fits great (full bum coverage too)! Under $40 and comes in a lot of other fun patterns + colors!
I am obsessed with this swimsuit!!!!! How fun are the colors and ruffle sleeves?? And again, the high waisted bottoms are so flattering on everyone. This swimsuit also fits true to size! Wearing a small and comes in lots of fun colors + patterns. And it’s only $36.99! That’s a win in my book.
I absolutely love how this swimsuit fits! The cutout on the side is perfection and so flattering. Comes in a ton of colors and is under $30!! Runs true to size (wearing a small) and has full bum coverage!
If you haven’t noticed, I’m obsessed with ruffles and fun colors! This suit is so unique and fun. Fits true to size (wearing a small) and is under $40! Seriously love how fun this one is!
Can’t go wrong with a classic striped swimsuit! This swimsuit is what dreams are made of! It’s flattering and full bum coverage. I’m wearing a small and it fits perfect! I especially love the blue color, it’s so fun for summer! Under $35 and comes in other colors + patterns.
Time for another life update! You guys have been so sweet to check in on me and the kids. The truth is, we are genuinely so happy + content. I cry all the time because of how grateful I am! St. George has been so good to us. We’re so happy to be here. The weather has been so good lately too! There’s so much going on, that I’m starting to do monthly updates for you guys! Today I’m giving an update on house plans, kids’ sports, and how happy we are to finally have Joe HOME!
If you didn’t know, the kids + I moved down to St. George in January while Joe stayed up north to finish work. He had his LAST day up north last week and finally moved down to St. George with us for good!!!! We are beyond ecstatic! The kids and I honestly did great with it until the last 2 weeks…those were definitely hard, but we are just so grateful to finally be united!! He starts his new job at the St. George hospital next month so he’s excited about that.
: HOUSE PLANS
We finished our house plans on Friday and we are so thrilled! There were some bumps in the road, but I feel like that always happens + then it turns outs even better than we imagined. So I’m excited to see how everything turns out. The house plans are now in engineering which can take 4-6 weeks and then we go to the city for permits. If everything stays on schedule, we’re hoping to break ground in June!!!
hudson’s football game
: KIDS
The kids are busy with spring sports right now! Harper is in gymnastics and soccer, and she is thriving! It’s the funnest thing to watch her.
Houston had his first couple baseball games and he couldn’t stop smiling! Every time he ran into the dugout, he would tell me how much fun he was having! All the kids die to go watch Houston + Harper’s games. Not everyone likes to watch the bigger kids’ games, but everyone just LOVES going to Harper’s soccer games + Houston’s baseball games because it’s just so cute and entertaining.
Hayden has cheer try outs in 2 weeks, so she’s really excited about that! She’s been on hold because we’ve been wanting to see what cheer team she makes and then from there we’ll sign her up for gymnastics.
Hunter is currently on a club soccer team AND also practices with the high school team, so she’s been doing double duty! She is still adjusting so bravely and optimistic with the move, if you missed her blog post about her feelings about the move and how everything is going for her, I’ll link that here.
Hudson started football! He had his first game last Saturday and he’s thriving! The coach and a couple parents came up to me afterwards and told me how much they want him on the team! He got a concussion when he was 8 from football, so after that I told him that I was against him playing football again…but I caved when we got down here. He is just so happy to be playing! It’s not tackle football, it’s 2 hand touch so that makes me feel a little better. He’s still playing baseball with his team up north, but hopefully we’ll be transitioning him to a St. George team soon.
I shared last week that I was finally going to start prioritizing my health and being better about working out. I shared some stories when I had was on the treadmill and everyone was asking about my workout routine, and the answer is that I don’t honestly know. I’m just getting started again, but I’m excited to share more about my journey to getting more consistent. You guys went wild over my workout top – it’s been my favorite for YEARS. I’ll link it here!
