How many of you are taking this fresh new year and time at home to tackle all the home organization projects you’ve been putting on the back burner?? We definitely are and one of those forever delayed projects is organizing the Kids Bathroom! It has basically been a free for all since we moved in. The kids usually end up getting ready for school and such in our bathroom, so I didn’t really see a need for it. But now that they are getting more independent, and spending more time getting themselves ready, we decided it was time for some organization!! Organizing a space that functions primarily for kids is a little different than your typical project. So today I wanted to share 3 tips to simplify the process and make it the most functional for your people!

:: SIMPLIFY WHAT YOU SEE
I don’t know about you, but when I am given too many choices, my mind instantly goes to overwhelm and resorts to a brain freeze. Our kids often react the same way. It is usually easier to narrow things down for them with 2-3 options. The same thing goes for organization. If your kids open their drawer and see 5 toothbrushes, 10 lipglosses, and 35 scrunchies, it is going to create instant overwhelm. How do they know what to use? And how do you keep such a congested space organized? That is where my first tip of simplifying what you see comes in.

Try to keep your main areas they are going to see often as simple as possible. This means narrowing items down to the ones you use most and putting your back stock out of sight. Maybe 1-2 lip glosses, 1 hair brush, 1 toothbrush, etc. Not only does this make what they are seeing simplified, but it makes cleaning up/keeping the organization in tact a lot easier. Take all the extras and put them somewhere they aren’t going to see every day. These drawer organizers from The Container Store help give you a simplified clean look for your basic every day items, making it easy for kids to know how to put things back where they go.
:: DIVIDERS MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE
It should come as no surprise to any of you that having a shopping spree to The Container Store would be a dream come true for me. Yes I completely love the look of their products in a space like my pantry where it keeps things uniform and clean, but the number one reason I love their products is the function. Every time I go on their website, I find something new and amazing.
Everything I got from The Container Store for the kids bathrooms has been such a game changer. My favorites are probably these dividers and these under sink drawers. First up the dividers. These are one of the biggest examples of why I say dividers make dreams come true in a kids space. Dividers help categorize things for your kids so they can see what they have and be able to use the products as well as easily keep them organized, instead of forgetting you even have certain products because they get shoved to the back of a cupboard.
These under sink drawers have been so amazing too! I don’t know about you, but I have always hated the wasted space around the pipes and these solve that making your space so much more functional.
If your stuck on where to start or what products would work best, honestly just go to their website or Instagram. They have so many great ideas I never would’ve thought of on my own to simplify your space.

:: INCLUDE THEIR INPUT
Last but definitely not least, is probably one of my biggest tips! When it comes to getting your kids to help out more around the house, whether it is with keeping things organized, chores house, or anything is to include their input. They want to be heard. The bathroom is their space, so let them have a say in how things are organized. They are the ones that are going to be using it (and hopefully cleaning it up). So take into consideration what works best for them. Hayden loved taking charge of her drawers. I can tell her sense of ownership is playing a big part in her wanting to keep her space “perfect”.
