My Go to Basics

If you’ve been around here for very long, you are probably well aware that I live for a good basic outfit, or as I like to call it, momiform. With 5 little people, I need an outfit that checks three boxes. Something comfortable, easy to move in, and looks put together! Gimme a good v-neck tee and high waisted jean and I am set! haha! So for today’s Favorite Finds,  I thought it would be fun to share all my favorite basics with you!

TOPS :

When it comes to my closet + wardrobe, I really try to keep it minimal. I try to mostly buy basics that can be super versatile. If I could live in a good basic tee, I totally would. They are comfortable, breathable, and can be easily be dressed up or down.

I’ve shared them a million times, but these are by far my favorite! The length is perfect so nothing is hanging out, and the v-neck cut gives it a little more style than your plain crew neck. I love that its not too tight so it is totally flattering. I can throw it on with jeans and some slides to run the little people to practice, but easily just throw on my favorite jacket and some heels and be ready for date night! If you’re anything like me, when you find something you love, you buy it in every color possible, so you’ll see this same tee on my in different varieties pretty much every day!

I’m also a big fan of vintage graphic tees. I think they are such a fun look and again so comfortable! I’m loving that so many places like Nordstrom + Revolve are starting to sell more of these. They have the cutest options in flattering yet comfy fits. And a little secret, sometimes you can even shop the Men’s section for the cutest options like this Mickey Tee I’m obsessed with!

JEANS :

I don’t know about you, but high waisted jeans coming back in style was pretty much the best thing that ever happened to me. haha! They are pretty much all I ever buy! I love finding a good pair that has some distressing to add a little pop to an outfit of basics. These are by far my favorite. They have the perfect amount of stretch to keep them comfy, but not give you a saggy booty after 1 day of wear. I always like to have a good white pair and black pair to switch things up a little bit too!

DRESSES :

Summer is officially here in Utah and that means HOT weather! I’ve never really been a big fan of shorts, so if I’m not wearing jeans and a tee, you’ll find me in a fun summer dress. Whether its a dressed up flowy look or a more casual fitted option, I love dresses!  Of course my number one favorite about these is they are so breathable. If I’m hot and sweaty, I want the least amount of clothes touching me as possible! haha!  I love that I can throw on a jacket for the cool summer nights or switch up the shoes and it totally changes the look.

SHOES :

Like pretty much every girl, I am a total shoe lover! Who doesn’t love a good pair of strappy heels for date nigh?! But lets be honest, I’m trying to keep up with 5 little people, and they are just not practical for every day. I pretty much live in some easy mules, sandals, or tennies!  These mules have been on repeat lately! They are so easy to throw on and go, and the white goes with everything!!

Now that summer is here, so is the hot weather. These are my go to sandals and I have them in 3 colors I love them so much. I love that they are kind of a dressed up flip flop. Just as comfy and care free, but nice enough to pair with dresses or a evening look for date night!

JACKETS :

While I don’t reach for them quite as often now that its hot out, I love having a good staple jacket or two in my line up. You know the ones you can reach for to go with just about any look? Must have in my opinion. My favorite is this black leather one. I think I wore it just about every day in the fall, and still love to grab it for cooler summer nights. The gold accessories add the perfect pop to dress up a basic look for date night. This denim option is another favorite. Its such a simple casual look and my favorite to pair with dresses!

As you can see, when it comes to my daily look, I’m all about easy + comfortable. Even though you may be mom to lots of little people, don’t forget about taking care of you.
